Bio
I’m a relationship-specialized psychiatrist, working with people struggling with a pattern of relationships/situations that don’t work, in a difficult relationship, dealing with a breakup or divorce, or perpetually single despite their wish not to be. Treating conditions like PTSD and social anxiety, and exploring root issues (eg childhood family experiences) empowers people to make better decisions in choosing partners and nurturing fulfilling relationships. It gives people agency in their romantic relationships, where they may have felt hopeless.
Cultural codes and systemic racism affect our experience both of the dating market and of seeking help with mental health. I share where you’re coming from and what you’ve been through.
My approach to therapy is psychodynamic + DBT skills, alongside evidence-based medicine grounded in the scientific literature. When therapy is not enough, medications can offer the full spectrum of treatment options. Together we explore what more might be going on, and lay your foundation of mental health for personal flourishing and better relationships.
Note on booking: If you’ve been feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or depressed, the last thing you want to do is make phone calls to clinic after clinic. Book online directly into the schedule, and see transparent pricing, at my website: https://www.prerelationshipmd.com/
