As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience, I have dedicated my career to providing compassionate and effective mental health care to diverse populations. I began practicing psychotherapy in 2012, and my journey has taken me through various roles in public mental health and private/corporate group practices. These experiences have shaped my commitment to creating a more just and inclusive environment for both therapists and clients.

My approach to therapy is rooted in social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. I believe in the power of culturally-appropriate and trauma-informed care to make a significant impact on the lives of those who have been marginalized by systemic inequities. My practice is dedicated to addressing the unique challenges faced by people disenfranchised by institutional racism, misogyny, bigotry, and other forms of oppression. I am a sex-positive provider who utilizes a direct, culturally sensitive, non-judgmental, warm, validating, accepting, and supportive interpersonal style.

My areas of expertise include trauma (including both PTSD and Complex PTSD), supporting survivors of narcissistic abuse and emotional manipulation, and working with neurodivergent individuals. Having intimate experience with trauma, narcissistic abuse, adult autism, and ADHD, I bring a personal understanding and deep empathy to my practice, specializing in these areas to provide comprehensive and compassionate care.

I utilize a range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches, tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. I offer therapy in both English and Korean. I speak Japanese and Spanish conversationally, although I am unable to offer therapy exclusively in these languages.

Born in Singapore and raised in a multicultural environment, my personal background also includes a significant influence of Mexican culture, having been raised in a first-generation Mexican family from the age of nine. This diverse cultural upbringing enriches my therapeutic approach, allowing me to connect deeply with clients from various backgrounds.

At Matter Mental Health, I strive to provide a safe and supportive space where individuals can heal and grow. Outside of my professional life, I am committed to continuous learning and advocacy, ensuring that my practice evolves with the needs of the communities I serve. My goal is to empower my clients to find their voices and reclaim their lives, fostering resilience and hope in the face of adversity.
