Bio

Mao Beckett LCSW, LICSW provides liberation-centered care as a somatic-psycho-spiritual therapist and coach. She is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) certified and supports clients with complex PTSD with their healing journey. She supports folks in overcoming stuckness, and ambivalence, disrupting internalized toxic and limiting beliefs, and finding their voice and confidence through spiritual and ancestral healing and practices to encourage optimal changes in the mind, community, body, and spirit.

Her work is rooted in healing that is liberation-centered, anchored in decolonized mental health care and wellness which is non-pathologizing, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and social justice-oriented.

Her lived experience as a first-generation American, mother, military veteran, and spouse, alongside her formal education, training, and clinical knowledge allows her to support and guide you in a meaningful way where you feel validated and heard. In her practice, your voice is the priority and you are the expert of your life and experiences.

Therapy is not only for crisis management but for self-exploration, reflection, and intentions setting. I am active and collaborative during our work together so you do not feel as though you are doing the work alone. I recognize seeking therapy and professional support can be intimidating.
