We are breathing universes and yet the world we live in can make it hard to remember our true selves. It’s obvious that the systems and structures of our society are set on keeping us overworked, sick and in fear. Yet this very setup also makes obvious the power and magic we possess when we are rested, healthy and liberated in our being. I believe your wellbeing is vital for you, your relationships, and the collective all at once; the quantum puzzle piece breathing back into all that we are together.
If you seek a 1:1 space dedicated to healing and inner cultivation beyond western psychotherapy’s diagnoses and pathologies;
If you’d like to practice deep self love by befriending your multitudes spanning many timeplaces,
If you recognize conflict as inevitable and necessary occurrences to deepen relational intimacy, and wish to navigate them in more resourced and generative ways;
… I’d love to support your life-walk.
My experience in the field of psychology has been a process of unlearning and divesting from frameworks that uphold and perpetuate patriarchal, cis-heteronormative and colonizing standards of normalcy, and deepening my continued learning of ancestral and anti-oppressive approaches that center healing, liberation and wholeness. My offering is largely informed by Animism, Somatic Abolition, Indigenous Psychology, Black Feminism, Liberation Psychology and Nichiren Buddhism. While honoring and centering your worldview, spirituality and/or religion, my over 20 years of Buddhist counseling and community leadership grounds the way I hold space.
In our sessions, your intuition, body’s cues, communication with nature, ancestral and unseen supports, as well as your racial, cultural, social economic and political contexts are held in high regard. I offer preparation and integration in support of plant medicine and spiritual journeys and experiences. I am versed in Tropical astrology, and am a student of Bazi Chinese astrology and may reference the stars, the elements, animal archetypes, and the seasons if you’d like.
Jiyu [地涌] is the life state of a “boddhisattva of the earth” in Nichiren Buddhism. In a parable of the Lotus Sutra, a great assembly takes place when upon the Buddha’s summoning, the ground of Eagle Peak cracks open and innumerable Boddhisattvas with transcendental powers emerge from below, dancing. They are introduced as gifted beings with fearless and boundless wisdom who are entrusted with the shared task of awakening all beings to their buddhanatures, thus transforming the lands in which they dwell. The Buddha reveals that they have been doing so since timeless beginning. Jiyu [自由] also means to be free and liberated. I invite us to be Jiyu together.
