Hi there,
I’m Elsa (she/her). I’m a second generation (first generation of my family born in the US) Taiwanese-American. I was born and raised in North Texas but have had the privilege of living briefly in California and Illinois. I’ve learned a lot through my time spent with so many people from different walks of life, and it has taught me to see the world with an open and accepting mind. Trauma work is my first love, but my personal experiences make me passionate about helping those with ethnic minority identities and collectivistic cultures navigate life. Mostly, I really love helping anyone create the balance in their life that they’re looking for. As a therapist, I aim to help you connect with all parts of yourself to cultivate growth and wholeness. We will work to identify patterns that are no longer working for you and build new ones to improve your quality of life.
Where you come from is an important part of who you are. That means working together in ways that are culturally sensitive and also mindful of systemic barriers that you may face. No matter where you are in your journey, I will meet you as you are, with curiosity, compassion, and a sense of humor.
I’ve worked in a variety of settings from nonprofits to doctors’ offices, and very little fazes me. Nothing is taboo to talk about in my therapy office!
I’m also a wife, mom, sister, friend, and dog parent. I love enjoying the fall weather (The cool air! The smells! Football!), trying new foods, slowly working through my stack of unread books, and annoying my family with cuddles. In my free time I like to sleep. Just being real.
