Bio

Hello, my name is Chisato Horikawa (she/her). I’m a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) providing counseling to teens (14+) and adults residing in Washington State. I have extensive experience working with adolescents and adults, especially survivors of gender-based violence and/or those who have witnessed family violence in their childhood. I’ve also had a passion to work with LGBTQAI+ community members, immigrants, POC (person of color), and multicultural populations.

My work is rooted in client-centered, culturally sensitive, social justice oriented, and trauma-informed approaches. I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space. I view therapy as a collaboration between clients and therapist, because we are both on this journey together. I am a firm believer that everyone has inner strengths and wisdom. We sometimes do not know how to connect to them, especially when you are feeling overwhelmed. I’m here to support you to find new ways to reconnect you to your inner wisdom and strengths.
