As a 2nd-generation Asian-American born to my immigrant parents from Hong Kong and the Philippines; there have been many instances where I questioned the idea of my cultural identity and regulating and expressing emotions in a healthy manner. Truth is, there wasn’t many opportunities of the latter because of all the typical stereotypical parenting styles that come from immigrant parents. For the former, I was fortunate to grow up in the San Francisco Bay Area and was surrounded by a melting pot of cultures and diverse mindsets.

It wasn’t until I moved to Oregon where I had to relearn what it meant to be a Chinese-American in our society. At the same time, I realized how difficult it was to find a therapist of color, and especially one I could relate to from a cultural lens (whether Asian or from the Bay) to discuss some cultural specific issues. I hope to be able to provide that connection with my clients through a person-centered lens as we explore different experiences from life transitions, cultural understanding, managing anxiety & depression, and relational communication and issues. Being a Marriage & Family counseling associate, I not only work with individuals, but couples as well. I am certified in Gottman Method Level 1, and am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

I am a fully virtual practice and offer 20-minute video consultations to see if we could be a good fit. I am happy to answer any questions regarding the therapy process, especially for those who have never been to therapy before and are curious to explore.
I currently charge $110/50 minute individuals and $150/60 minute couples’ sessions. My sliding scale is currently on waitlist (August’24)
