Who I Am

My name is Joanne and thanks so much for considering me. The decision to start therapy takes vulnerability and courage. And therapy works best if it’s a good fit, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t get it right the first time.

I am a queer, neurodivergent, Pinay therapist. I believe that we are an amalgamation of all the people we’ve interacted with take pieces of them as we grow and develop as humans. There’s so much insight to be had when you explore your relationship with the world around you.

What I Do

I work with people who are experiencing uncertainty about their relationships or feel unmotivated at work or unsatisfied in their lifestyle. Folks that are navigating change, exploring their identity or purpose, and building sincere relationships. Those that are interested in breaking familial patterns and doing something different and meaningful with their lives. The world can be so soul-crushing sometimes, making folks feel shame over their identities, desires, or behaviors. Understanding our identities or behaviors releases shame, provides clarity around your sense of self, builds self-confidence, and allows for true sustained change.

I want to be clear though that while there is important work that can be accomplished in individual therapy, humans aren’t meant to live in isolation. Our relationships and communities offer valuable opportunities for healing, support, and growth. In therapy with multiple people in the room, I focus on how our past relationships affect the ways we expect and express love and how we can better hear the emotions our loved ones are communicating and better communicate our own emotions.

My goal is to access your natural strengths and develop strategies to better cope in times of high stress. I offer a warm and non-pathologizing space for you to openly address your concerns regarding intimacy, connection, or sexual wellbeing. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, trans-affirming, sex-positive, polyamory and kink-informed, pro-SW, body neutral/Health at Every Size-aligned.

I support all genders, orientations, and relationship styles. Everyone deserves to lead a life filled with pride and joy. Starting therapy takes courage, so when you’re ready, we can work towards learning, building, and sharing your authentic self within your community. Healing work can be disappointing, exciting, terrifying, empowering, and liberating at any given point, and I’d be honored to support you on this journey.
