Do you find that talking is hard? That music better expresses your thoughts and feelings?

My name is Elaine and I am a Counselling Therapist and Certified Music Therapist. My primary focus is on supporting mental health needs including, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, identity work as well as grief and loss. I also work with people going through periods of change and transition. In our sessions, we may talk, sing, improvise, write, and listen to music. No previous musical training or experience necessary, just willing to do something different.

As an active musician and therapist, I have a deep understanding of how music affects people in different ways. Your sessions will be personalized to meet your unique needs. I am also a second-generation Chinese-Canadian who was born in Canada and raised overseas, with an understanding of navigating cultural nuances. I work primarily with a humanistic and strengths-based approach. I am also informed by CBT, DBT, SFT, ACT, Narrative Therapy, ASIST suicide prevention, Neurologic Music Therapy, trauma and anti-oppressive practices.

In this safe, non-judgmental, and sometimes fun space, I am here to list. I will also provide you with opportunities for change and growth, when you are ready. I will support you to make your experience a fulfilling one. If you’re ready to take that next step—whether you want to talk, make music, or just figure out what’s next for you—I’d love to hear from you!

I am accepting new clients at this time. Please book a free 15-min consultation to see if we might be a good fit.
